Before you rely on this: this tool crops and compresses only. It does not check head size, background, lighting, or expression, and it cannot confirm your photo will be accepted. US passport online renewal uses different digital rules (54 KB–10 MB, original file, crop in the official app) — use our US passport portal page to check that file, not this crop tool. Some countries — including Canada and Australia — require a photo taken in person by a commercial photographer and forbid edited images. Always confirm your country and document type on the official requirement page.

Frequently asked questions
- What passport sizes are supported?
- US 2×2 inch (51×51 mm), UK printed passport and many Schengen visa applications at 35×45 mm, stamp size 3×4 cm, a 50 KB form preset, and custom width × height in centimeters at a DPI you choose. Requirements vary by country — see our verified portal pages for official specs.
- Can I crop an image by centimeters?
- Yes. Choose Custom cm, enter width and height in cm, set DPI (default 300 for print), then pan and zoom an aspect-locked crop so the face is framed without stretching. Export is the matching pixel size for that cm × DPI.
- How is this different from resize image in cm?
- Resize in cm scales the whole image to those dimensions. This passport maker lets you choose which part of the photo to keep (crop), then exports at the cm size — better when you need head-and-shoulders framing.
- Are photos stored on your server?
- No. All cropping and compression happens locally in your browser.
